Jazz guitarist Gergely Pálinkás is a well-known name in Hungary’s jazz circles. As a band member and session player, he has played with such luminaries as Gábor Majsai, Judit Hernádi and Gábor Heilig, also serving as musical director for the latter two. As a composer, he has written for local pop star Attila Kökény, jazz songstress extraordinaire Myrtill Micheller and pop/jazz/latin vocalist Gábot Majsai.

Gergely was born in Vác, Hungary in 1969. He began to learn music at the age of six, studying classical violin for six years. He was 16 when he picked up the guitar, evolving into a self-taught jazz player over the years.

His playing style recalls that of George Benson and, as a devoted smooth jazz artist, Gergely is a frequent performer with his band on jazz stages throughout Hungary.

Gergely Pálinkás has released two records to date, titled First Time (2016) and Boundaries (2017) both on Beagle Beat Records. The albums feature such household names from the Hungarian and international jazz scene as drummers Péter Szendőfi and Gábor Dörnyei, bassist György Szappanos, keyboarder Gergely "GERO" Nagy and lead vocalists Myrtill Micheller and Heni Czerovszky
